Explore! Children’s Museum of Washington D.C hired Rhonda Buckley-Bishop as President and CEO of the Museum on September 12th 2016.
Mrs. Buckley-Bishop has served as the associate dean for outreach and engagement at the Michigan State University (MSU) College of Music and the executive director of its two Community Music Schools. Prior to her role at MSU, she was founder and longtime executive director of the Sitar Arts Center, a community arts center that serves at‐risk youth and families in Washington, DC, where she received numerous awards for her work as a nonprofit leader.
She received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Master of Music in Saxophone Performance degree, both from MSU, and a graduate degree in business from the University of Maryland University College. She has also been a Fellow in the Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders-Arts, Stanford Graduate School of Management. She has performed with the Virginia Chamber Orchestra, Central Florida Symphony and the Brooklyn Heights Orchestra.
