The next big step for creating a DC Children's Museum, Explore! with the National Portrait Gallery brings a dedicated children's exhibit to downtown. Created in collaboration with the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, the hands-on Portrait Exhibit is open seven days a week from 11:30am-7:00pm. Join us at the Gallery for story time Tuesday - Sunday at 11:45 am!

Family Festivals!
Explore! Children's Museum, with support from DCCAH and local artists, provides art, music and science activities to our community. This has included dance workshops, science demos and a variety of arts and humanities activities.
We have hosted over a dozen free children's festivals in our Fort Totten neighborhood. More event info can be found at the Art Place website.
RSVP and join us for our 'Minecraft' Back to School Bash on August 23, 2025 and/or our Fall Festival on September 13, 2025.
